2008 Cornwall

It wasn’t really a long winter because of our New Year trip to Normandy. Nonetheless, it was good when spring came around and we could go for something of a repeat of last year’s trip to Cornwall. April 2007 was one for the record books with vast amounts of glorious sunshine and unseasonably warm weather. We were not expecting a repeat of that but we were certainly looking forward to seeing the spring colours anyway and attending May Day in Padstow again. Any excuse for a Cornish pasty!

in 2008 the weather was much more as one would expect; a mixture of some rain, quite a bit of sun and lots of wind. We spent a week near each of Marazion (Goldsithney), St. Agnes and Rock (St. Minver Lowlands). The wind was especially noticeable at St. Agnes where it seems to be something of a regular feature. Having stumbled into Padstow’s May Day celebrations last year, this year we planned to be there. (Trip on Google Maps)

Since Carol is now a digital photographer, we took her laptop and were able to document our fun and games by regular
blog postings largely courtesy of McDonald’s brilliant free wi-fi service. (Well, they have to be useful for something.) You can find the blog entries, together with some photographs (all Carol’s since I was still using real film), in Traveblog.

The old technology film having been processed, mounted and scanned, below is a combined selection of photographs from our trip. A few of these are duplicates from our Traveblog but the majority are different.
