Being footloose and fancy-free over the Christmas period, we decided to rent a cottage in Cornwall. Carol found a great place in Fowey (pronounced “Foy”), a place we already knew and liked on the south coast. We got lucky on arrival by getting an upgrade to a larger cottage because there was a glitch in the unit we had originally rented. Christmas Day fell on a Sunday and the rentals ran mid-week to mid-week, so we went down on Wednesday 21st December. We had a wonderful time; not only was the cottage excellent but the weather was very kind to us as well. It was dry throughout the week but Christmas Day and the following two days delivered stunning clear blue skies – excellent for coastal walks as I hope you can see from the pictures below.
